Student Sustainability Committee (SSC)
The Student Sustainability Committee or SSC is a group of undergraduate and graduate student dedicated to improving sustainability at Illinois. In consultation with a team of faculty and staff, we are charged with stewarding an annual budget of $1.1 million for sustainability projects and initiatives – one of the largest funds of its kind in American higher education. Illinois Student Government Committee on Environmental Sustainability
The ISG Committee on Environmental Sustainability focuses on issues related to sustainability, resilience, and environmental justice. As the voice of the student body, ISG’s role is to bring together a wide variety of student representatives interested in sustainability. Learn more about ISG.
Sustainability Living-Learning Community (SLLC)
The Sustainability Living-Learning Community (SLLC) is an educational program supported by the Division of Student Affairs. This unique co-curricular experience provides students opportunities for understanding sustainability through exclusive course offerings, dialogue, discussion sections with other community members, and more. Student Sustainability Leadership Council (SSLC)
The Student Sustainability Leadership Council (SSLC) facilitates communication and collaboration between student-led sustainability groups, the student body, and campus units. The SSLC promotes novel sustainability opportunities among students. Learn more about the SSLC.
Sustainability Working Advisory Teams (SWATeams)
Sustainability Working Advisory Teams (SWATeams) were established by the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment (iSEE). These teams consist of students, staff, and faculty. They examine the six broad themes within the Illinois Climate Action Plan (iCAP). Learn more about the SWATeams.
SWATeams recommend concrete steps the campus and community should take to meet iCAP targets, as well as developing suggested revisions and updates to the iCAP. Below is a list of the corresponding teams:
