Student Org Development & Administration offers a series of orientations and workshops throughout the year with a range of topics for the development of your student org.

Orientations are required by specific officers in order to be in compliance and able to have access to University Benefits & Services.

Workshops are additional trainings that may be of interest to some, or all, of your Student Organization members. To request a workshop, please complete the SODA Workshop Request Form.

President, Treasurer, & Event Orientations

President, Treasurer, & Event Orientations are now available via a OneIllinois Checklist assigned to each respective officer once added to the roster. Presidents and Treasurers must complete their appropriate Checklist to gain access to related forms and processes in the system. Any of the required officers, including the Event Coordinator, can complete the Event Orientation and be granted the ability to submit Event Registrations for their Student Organization.

To access your Checklists, log in to OneIllinois and click on the "Access Your Checklist" button on the homepage. Any available orientations will appear and can be completed by the appropriate user.

New & Re-Activating Student Org Orientations

The New & Re-Activating Orientation provides the new president with administrative tools and resources necessary to start or re-activate a student organization. All new/re-activating presidents are required to attend this training for the student organization to be in compliance.

For New or Re-Activating Student Organization Orientations, these will occur in-person at the times specified below. Attendance will only be granted to those on time. Due to capacity limits, session attendance may be restricted. We encourage individuals to arrive at least five (5) minutes early to secure a spot. We begin all sessions promptly at the listed starting time to respect everyone’s time. In addition, you must remain in the session for the duration of the orientation.

All session are hosted in the Student Org Complex (Illini Union 280).

  • Tuesday, February 27 – 6:00 pm – CANCELLED
  • Wednesday, March 20 – 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, March 21 – 5:00 pm
  • Wednesday, March 27 – 3:00 pm
  • Thursday, March 28 – 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday, April 17 – 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, April 18 – 5:00 pm
  • Wednesday, April 24 – 3:00 pm
  • Thursday, April 25 – 7:00 pm – CANCELLED
  • Wednesday, May 8 – 2:00 pm
